Product line up
LOTEC-T is highly resistant to thermal shock, it does not react with molten metals such as aluminum or zinc, and it does not get wet. These properties make it useful as an industrial heat-resistant material. We also have machinable ceramics that can be processed into a wide variety of shapes.
LOTEC-T (Aluminum titanate)
Aluminum titanate
- Machinable ceramics highly resistant to corrosion -
LOTEC-T is a ceramic created from aluminum titanate crystals that AGC Ceramics have developed. It is known that conventional aluminum titanate even when sintered, could not achieve a reasonable strength and tends to be decomposed at high temperatures. We have improved these weak-points of aluminum titanate and added three new characteristics: thermal shock resistance, no reaction with molten metals, and hard to getting wet. Making use of these characteristics, it is used in industry to create various superior industrial materials such as those to create nonferrous metal melting furnace. There are two types in the T-series: type TC with coarse-grained particles having high thermal-shock resistance, and type TM (machinable ceramics) capable of being mechanically processed into varied shapes.
Characteristics
1. Low-thermal expansion
2. Low-thermal conductivity
3. High corrosion resistance with melting nonferrous metals
4. Free-cutting(type TM)
Used for
1. Parts for melting nonferrous metals such as molten aluminum and molten zinc (ladles, U-shaped tubes, stoke tubes)
2. Tools (Machinable ceramics)
