Developed using AGC Ceramics's original electro-fused synthesis
technology, Ceraborex has a high melting point of 3060°C. It has electrical
conductivity equal to that of pure iron and has high corrosion resistance with
slag and molten metals. |

zirconium boride |
- A corrosion-resistant material
having electrical conductivity equal to that of pure iron -
AGC Ceramics developed an original processing method, which covers synthesis of raw materials
to fusing and processing, to create boride ceramics. Using AGC Ceramics's original electro-fused
synthesis technology, we have been able to synthesize zirconium boride ingredients.
In addition, using new pressure-less sintering techniques, we have achieved the
first mass production of this material, which is known to be difficult to sinter.
Ceraborex-CR has electrical conductivity equal to that of pure iron, and therefore,
precision machining by electro-discharge method is possible to this material..
Also, it is a material resistant to corrosion and molten slags. |
1. High corrosion resistance
with molten metals and slags
2. Conductivity equal to that of pure iron (Specific resistance comparison: 10-5Ω_cm
order)
3. Melting point of 3060 °C
4. Induction heated material |
1. Induction heating parts
2. Melting furnaces parts
3. Protection tubes for thermal-couple used for hot iron, molten steel
4. Additives for refractory materials |
