| Asahi Plast (plastic refractories) |
 |
Asahi Plast (Plastic refractories) is made
by mixing water with heat-resistant aggregates added to outstanding bonding clay,
and kneading it until it becomes a clay-paste form. It is a convenient material
as it can adapt to construction parts of all shapes without a pre-kneading process.
Heat-proof side-walls, ceilings and bottoms of all types of kilns and burner blocks
can be built on site, making it an effective material to use on contingent repair
works.
Sliced-Plast comes in a sheet of 280mm x 210 mm x 50 mm, wrapped in a polyethylene
bag and packed in a box. Chrome-Plast comes in kneaded-form, wrapped in a polyethylene
bag and packed in a box. |

| Characteristics |
| - |
Its joint-less feature prevents
gas-leakage and entry of surrounding air. |
| - |
It can be used in any place of construction,
but it is particularly effective where irregular-shaped bricks are required. It
is also suitable for repair works. |
| - |
Its strength does not deteriorate under
high-temperature and has excellent spalling-resistance against rapid heating and
quenching. |
| - |
Has high durability than refractory bricks,
therefore, it can prevent the collapse of furnace walls and can increase furnace
life. |
| - |
It can be easily repaired. |
| - |
It is much more economical than conventional
refractory bricks. |

| Ramming material |
 |
| AGC Ceramics's ramming materials have minimal plasticity
and their particle sizes are controlled so that they are densely packed. Ramming
materials come in two forms pre-kneaded form and forms in which the customer adds
bonding materials accordingly. In both cases, they are injection-type materials
for stamping, using devices such as air-rammers. The materials come in high-alumina
or zircon and they are widely used in induction furnaces, iron/steel making and
glass melting furnaces. |
 |
High Alumina Ramming material
A ramming material using high-alumina raw materials,
it has volume stability in heat, and has excellent performance in electric furnace
covers, low-frequency channel-type furnaces and materials for the discharge-end
of kilns among others. Phosphate-bonded high-strength ramming material is suitable
for all types kilns where strength is required. It contains low amount of SiO2,
and is therefore suitable for the construction and repairing of aluminum melting
furnaces and holding furnaces. |
 |
Zircon ramming material for glass-melting
furnaces
Glass-melting furnaces require strengthened heat-resistance
from energy-saving purposes. The furnace bed, in particular, requires strengthened
heat-resistance in order to raise the temperature of glass material at furnace
bed, and therefore, there is an increasing need for sub-paves and paving ramming
materials to respond to corrosion against glass materials.
In order to prevent permeation of glass materials, AGC Ceramics has examined the use of
high-purity zircon and high-corrosion-resistance zircon-alumina ramming material,
and their properties have been well-received by our customers.
Furthermore, zircon-patching material is suitable for side-walls of glass melting
furnaces and heat repairs work for melter crowns in the superstructure. |

| Characteristics |
| - |
High corrosion resistance against
glass materials. |
| - |
Forms a high viscosity reaction bed, and
therefore alleviates the corrosion of paving bricks. |
| - |
It is a material that causes little glass
defects. |

| Mortar - Airset mortar |
 |
 |
TM (Tight seal) and BO (Asahi
High Bond) are airset mortars that show excellent adhesion strength from room
temperature to high temperature.
TM has low shrinkage rate after heat-dry, therefore when used in air-tight construction
work, it has little leakage, and when used for coating furnace side-walls, it
causes no cracks.
BO is easily applicable, and can build bricks with thin joint layers. |
|
|

| Mortar - CM-8-3Mortar |
 |
 |
High Alumina special mortar, CM-8-3,
has very high adherence than general mortars, therefore, it is suitable for Al2O3-SiO2
bricks that require high-strength.
| - |
The powdered and bonding liquid come separately,
therefore, mix 1 package of powder (40kg) and bonding liquid (10.8 - 12kg) and knead
well. |
| - |
Due to mortar property, do not mix with
liquid-glass or other bonding materials; although, if there are problems with
water retention time, funori (glue plant) and dextrin can be added. |
| - |
The mortar will harden if left unattended
after it is kneaded. Make sure you use the material within 2 hours. |
| - |
Metal mortar boxes may cause foaming due
to the bonding material. Make sure you use wooden or plastic boxes. |

| Pre-cast block |
 |
| AGC Ceramics offers pre-cast blocks of Monolithic refractories casted into certain molds and shaped accordingly. |

| Characteristics |
| - |
Our molds are of exact measurement,
using minimal kneading water and formed using vibration method, and therefore,
our products are of high strength and precision. |
| - |
Using pre-casted and dried blocks allows
shorter construction time as it saves the effort of making and curing them on
site. |
| - |
AGC Ceramics offers blocks of various complicated
shapes, so that our customers do not have to use irregular-shaped bricks. Furnace-designing
can be done with ease, making it a rational choice to use AGC Ceramics's pre-cast blocks.
In addition to custom-made irregular-shaped blocks, we also offer a range of standardized
products. |
