AGC Ceramics offers, utilizing the latest technologies, refractories for aluminum melting furnace including a widely-used GIBRAM (metal contact portions) and plastic refractories (to be used on walls and ceilings) as well as the ASAL Series which is low-aluminum permeating, and the CLC-Z Series featuring built-in mechanisms that reduce chemical reaction with aluminum. Alternatively, for customers who are using bricks, AGC Ceramics offers high-alumina burned bricks (CWR-8-AL) for Aluminum melting furnaces. |

| Benefits of our recommended construction method |
| 1. |
Using our non-wet ASAL-85Z on the metal contact
parts of the furnace bottom and side-walls can restrain reaction with molten metal
and lower the chances of metal build-up. |
| 2. |
We offer the CLC-Z302-AL (for walls) and the
CLC-Z310-AL (for furnace bottoms) for places with significant bare metal permeation,
such as the metal contact parts of melting furnace bottoms and side-walls. |
| 3. |
CLC-Z900-AL is the most suitable material as a countermeasure against Al-Mg oxide that builds up in the upper seal-line of the melting furnace of Al-Mg alloys and others. CLC-Z900-AL easily removes built-up Al-Mg oxides. |
| 4. |
For upper furnace castings, we recommend the use of CLC-A610-RE or CLC-A649-RE, which has better spalling resistance. |
| 5. |
By using the Asahi Gunning Rheo-flow method
on the upper furnace can reduce molding cost, construction process, and time can
be reduced. (Construction including permanent lining is possible for upper furnace.) |
| 6. |
When repairing the furnace bottom, we recommend the use of pre-cast block (GIBRAM and others) with plastic refractories such as PL-Z350-AL for the purpose of easy dismantling, shorter drying time and reduction of construction process. |
